About Meili
The legendary all-terrain vehicle Metrac / Flextrac is well known in English-speaking countries. It was developed by Meili Switzerland. Metrac was the prototype and predecessor of the M561 Gama Goat. The Meili prototype, which was sent to the USA for testing purposes and as the Gama Goat reference, still exists. It is part of a vehicle collection in Turkey. Meili built unconventional prototypes as well as one-offs and small series. They were often customized to meet specific customer requirements.
According to the Federal Office of Transport, Swiss Tractor and Grip Wheel Factory Meili Schaffhausen put approx. 4500 vehicles into circulation in Switzerland and Principality of Liechtenstein. In addition, there is a dark figure of missing data, as well as exported vehicles mainly to Austria, France, Morocco, South Africa and Latin America, which were not registered. A total of approx. 4300 tractors, 250 Aromobiles, 800 Multimobiles, 250 dumpers and a further approx. 200 special vehicles can be assumed. Detailed information about Meili can be found in the Meili Book (German language)
